At least two people were killed in a shooting outside the Israeli consulate in Istanbul, according to local media reports.

Two police officers were injured, the Reuters news agency reported.

Video shared by Reuters showed an armed police officer taking cover amid the sound of gunshots.

Armed police are always stationed near the Israeli consulate, Reuters said.

CBS News called the Israeli consulate in Istanbul and the district and city police for comment but had not heard back at the time of publication.

Israel’s foreign ministry said in a statement that it was investigating reports of a shooting near this consulate, which it said was “unmanned.”
