A person was arrested in connection with the deadly Palisades Fire in January that killed a dozen people in California, multiple law enforcement sources told NBC News.

The name of the person and the nature of the charges have not been released.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Los Angeles Police Department are expected to announce additional details at a Wednesday news conference.

The fire erupted on Jan. 7 in the Palisades Highlands. It burned more than 23,000 acres in the Los Angeles area and destroyed over 6,800 structures before it was fully contained on Jan. 31.

An official cause of the fire is unclear.
