Ariana Grande’s ‘Eternal Sunshine’ Number One Again With Reissue
Eternal Sunshine Deluxe: Brighter Days Ahead is bolstered by six previously unreleased tracks
Ariana Grande’s Eternal Sunshine returns to the top of the Billboard 200 albums chart more than a year after it debuted in the same position, thanks to its deluxe reissue, as Billboard reports.
Eternal Sunshine Deluxe: Brighter Days Ahead includes six previously unreleased tracks, which helped bolster its position, earning 137,000 equivalent album units, according to Luminate. (The tallies for chart purposes include all iterations of Eternal Sunshine — past and present.)
Grande’s seventh studio album first bowed at the top of the chart when it was released in March 2024, spending its first two weeks at Number One. This week, it jumped from 87 to Number One, making it the largest positional jump since Travis Scott’s Days Before Rodeo went from 106 to Number One back in September.
The 137,000 Eternal Sunshine units sold include 98.5 million on-demand streams of the album’s songs, bringing it to Number Two on the Top Streaming Albums chart. Beyond the deluxe reissue’s six additional tracks, sales were also aided by its many variants. Grande’s webstore offered three exclusive download versions, including the 19-song edition, a version that included instrumentals of each cut, and another featuring a cappella versions of all the tracks. It was also released as two vinyl variants and there were six CD editions of the reissue, some of which were signed by Grande.
Elsewhere on the albums chart, Playboi Carti’s Music drops to Number Two after topping the charts for two weeks; Lil Durk’s Deep Thoughts bows at Number Three; Kendrick Lamar’s GNX falls a notch to Number Four, and PartyNextDoor and Drake’s $ome $exy $ongs 4 U slips to Number Five.
