Amy Winehouse ‘Back to Black’ Tribute With Mark Ronson, Raye Sets Date

Amy Winehouse‘s band have announced a special one-off London show to mark 20 years of Black To Black, featuring appearances from the likes of Raye, Mark Ronson and Jorja Smith.

The Back To Black 20 concert will take place at the Roundhouse in Winehouse’s native Camden on October 21, just days before the 20th anniversary of her seminal second album.

Winehouse’s band will perform Back To Black in full, with the evening led by album producers Ronson and Salaam Remi and the singer’s longtime musical director Dale Davis, among other figures.

The songs will be performed by an array of handpicked guest vocalists including Sasha Keeble, Baby Rose, Corinne Bailey Rae, FLO, Skye Newman, Jorja Smith, Lianna La Havas, Nia Smith, Jessie Reyez and Yebba.

“I’m honoured to be asked to come celebrate Amy alongside Salaam and some amazing artists worthy of singing her songs,” said Ronson. “Doing justice to the legacy of ‘Back To Black’ is the order of the night.”

Remi added: “Funny how time flies! I can’t believe it’s been 20 years already. I’m excited to see what these ladies bring to their versions of these songs we know and love.”

Fans hoping to gain access to the artist pre-sale for the Roundhouse concert can pre-order any 20th anniversary edition of Back To Black from Winehouse’s official store by 12pm on Monday (September 28) to receive an exclusive pre-sale code. Tickets then go on general sale at 10am on October 1 here.

The Back To Black 20 show will also be recorded for broadcast. BBC Two will in October as the main show of a night celebrating Winehouse, while BBC Radio 2 will broadcast the show on October 26 from 7pm to 9pm as part of Jo Whiley’s programme.

The Roundhouse also holds special significance as it was the site of Winehouse’s final public appearance on July 20, 2011, when she performed with her goddaughter Dionne Bromfield as part of the iTunes Festival. Winehouse died at her Camden home three days later.

The landmark anniversary of Winehouse’s seminal second album Back to Black will be celebrated with a deluxe reissue, which was announced last month. The album will now be reissued in a series of formats which will take in unreleased demos, rare B-Sides and a live recording of Winehouse’s 2007 show at Amsterdam’s Paradiso venue. The reissue will be released on October 27.
