Pitbull devotees have the opportunity to grab free bald caps from Aldi — helping Mr Worldwide shatter a Guinness World Record at BST Hyde Park.

The supermarket giant is rebranding itself as BALDI for a single day outside the venue, handing out complimentary bald caps, aviator sunglasses, temporary tattoos and ready-to-drink cocktail cans.

The freebie giveaway will allow fans to channel their inner Mr Worldwide as part of a world record attempt organised by Pitbull for the largest ever gathering of people donning bald caps.

Festival-goers will be able to spot the stand outside Hyde Park and help themselves to the fancy dress items, along with ice-cold Infusionist and Stefanoff ready-to-drink cocktail cans before heading inside.

Sporting its ‘Baldi’ logo and ‘Firebald’ banner, the pop-up stall is set to turn heads and serve as a brilliantly amusing photo opportunity for fans prior to entering the venue.

Julie Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, said: “When we heard Pitbull and his fans were attempting this world record at BST Hyde Park, we knew we had to show our support and get involved with Baldi.

“The stall will be on hand to help fans transform into Mr. Worldwide, so if you’re in need of a aviators or a bald cap to complete your look, keep an eye out for Baldi as you make your way to the festival.”

The Baldi stand will be positioned outside BST Hyde Park on Friday 10th July, while stocks last. The world record concept originated from BBC Radio 1 DJ Greg James on his Breakfast show.

As a devoted admirer, Greg enthusiastically proposed the idea of a world record attempt on air the moment Pitbull’s BST Hyde Park headline performance was confirmed.

Pitbull caught wind of the appeal and messaged James directly to confirm he was completely supportive of bringing it to fruition.

The concept evolved into a huge fan phenomenon from Pitbull’s recent tours – including his sold-out O2 Arena performances in London – where thousands of concert-goers began turning up wearing bald caps, aviators, and suits, fondly dubbing themselves “The Bald E’s.”

Organisers swiftly embraced the opportunity to transform Greg James’ on-air suggestion into an officially verified Guinness World Record attempt.
