Madonna and Kylie Minogue Team Up for ‘Love Sensation (Afterhours Mix)’

Madonna‘s long-rumored collaboration with Kylie Minogue is finally here. The duo shared “Love Sensation (Afterhours Mix)” today after previewing it live during Madonna’s Confessions II show in Amsterdam last week.

The dance floor-ready number adds Minogue’s vocals to Madonna’s recent track “Love Sensation,” which appears on her latest LP Confessions II. Produced by Stuart Price, the single marks the duo’s first time appearing together on a song. There are two versions of the track, “Afterhours Radio Edit” and the more expansive “Afterhours Mix.”

Minogue previously denied persistent rumors that she would appear on Confessions II, but it turns out the speculation wasn’t completely off-base. The Australian singer joined Madonna on stage in Amsterdam to showcase the forthcoming remix. The two iconic dance music singers joined forces onstage for the first time ever in 2024 at Madonna’s Los Angeles concert to cover Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive” before singing Minogue’s own “Can’t Get You Out of My Head.”

Madonna scored her 10th Number One album on the Billboard 200 with Confessions II. “Words cannot express how Grateful and Surprised I am By the incredible reception, Confessions on a Dance Floor has received,” Madonna wrote in an Instagram post. “Thank You — to everyone who has been a part of this and who has helped make this dream come true. Especially my Fans. The Goodwill and positivity has been incredible.”

The 16-track record features songs “Danceteria,” “I Feel So Free,” and “Bring Your Love,” a duet with Sabrina Carpenter that the two debuted live during Carpenter’s headlining set at Coachella. The LP was accompanied by a short film that premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in June.

“It’s a 64-minute nonstop groove that flows like a club-DJ set, each song fading into the next, drawing from all over the history of dance music,” Rob Sheffield wrote in his review for Rolling Stone. “You might hear a flicker of ‘I Feel Love’ here, or ‘Apache’ there, but it’s a history lesson that she turns into her musical autobiography.”
