Kacey Musgraves Strikes Three Shows Off of Her Middle of Nowhere Tour

Kacey Musgraves has canceled three shows from her upcoming Middle of Nowhere Tour — including the opening night gig in Chicago — without explanation.

Fans who bought tickets for the singer’s August 20 show in Chicago, August 29 concert in Boston, and September 2 gig in Brooklyn received an email this weekend telling them that their show was canceled and that tickets would be refunded, People reports.

The Chicago and Boston shows were part of a multi-show stand at their respective venues, and added to the itinerary due to the demand for the initially announced gigs at the United Center (August 21) and TD Garden (August 28); both those concerts remain on the schedule, with August 21 now serving as the Middle of Nowhere Tour’s opening night.

The Brooklyn’s Barclays Center show was added to the schedule after Musgraves had already booked two nights at New York’s Madison Square Garden on August 31 and September 1; both of the MSG shows remain unchanged in the shakeup.

Other two-night stands on the trek — in Nashville, Austin, Dallas, Los Angeles, and Seattle — weren’t impacted in the cancelations, which fans have speculated were due to low ticket sales a.k.a. the dreaded “blue dot fever.” Musgraves has not yet officially commented on the cancelations as she’s currently on vacation in Greece.

The North American leg of the Middle of Nowhere Tour, in support of Musgraves’ recent album of the same name, concludes October 27 in Seattle. In January 2027, Musgraves will embark on a brief Australian tour before heading to Europe the following month.
