The Hello Girls, America’s first women soldiers, finally getting their recognition

Hundreds of women served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps during World War I, connecting calls for the Army in France. The women were called the “Hello Girls” and they were among America’s first women soldiers. But it took decades for them to be recognized as veterans. Noel Brennan reports.
