Two underrated new horror films are on Channel 4 this weekend | Films | Entertainment
Aside from The Odyssey arriving in cinemas on Friday, there are plenty of films on TV this weekend. In fact, Channel 4 has an underrated horror movie double bill this Saturday night, going into early Sunday morning. And both films were released in 2022.
The Menu (10:55pm)
Nicholas Hoult plays a foodie who takes his date (Anya Taylor-Joy) to a remote island’s exclusive restaurant. Ralph Fiennes stars as the chef who has prepared a tasting menu. The only thing is, it’s a deadly menu designed to punish his pretentious, elitist guests for destroying his passion for cooking. A black comedy horror thriller, The Menu saw Fiennes and Taylor-Joy nominated for their performances at the Golden Globes.
Men (12:50am)
Written and directed by Alex Garland (Ex Machina, 28 Years Later, Warfare), this folk horror stars Jessie Buckley as a widow who goes on holiday to a village. However, it’s not long before she finds herself harassed by the odd men in the village, who are all played by Rory Kinnear. Let’s just say it gets pretty surreal.
