GK Barry has revealed the quirky hacks she uses to recover from a night on the town, including dunking her head into a bowl of ice-cold water and listening to an unusual playlist.

Discussing her post-night-out routine, after submerging her face, Barry tunes into music with frequencies designed to help her get through the day after a heavy evening.

Lifting the lid on her meticulous regime, Barry said: “What I do is I’ll wake up and start the day by lying to myself I’m fine.

“Then I’ll put on eye patches and dip my head in an ice-cold bowl of water. Two paracetamol, two ibuprofen, and I’m ready to attack the day. The world is my oyster.”

Discussing her other unusual recovery hacks, Barry teamed up with Tropicana Hydrate+ to deliver refreshments to Londoners, helping people get over those big late nights out for the football.

She added: “When I used to live in Nottingham, I’d have to get the train from Nottingham to London for work after a big night out.

“I’d have to listen to music on YouTube with frequencies that are supposed to help a sore head and hope it would help. And to be fair, on some of my darkest days, it did do something.”

Barry said she can sometimes overstep the mark when it comes to enjoying herself, adding: “I tend to think I’m more sober than I actually am – even when I am pretty loose.”

Recalling one particular night out, Barry revealed how a trip to Ibiza ended with her being hauled from a fountain by the Baggs brothers and Max Balegde.

She said: “I was in Ibiza and we went to this restaurant with lots of meats, cheeses and wine. Let’s just say I went a bit too heavy on the wine and too light on the meat.

“I ended up jumping into a fountain and nearly drowning. Thankfully I was rescued by my friends – including the Baggs brothers and Max Balegde.

“Then they had to carry me home – and to make things worse I dropped my phone in there.

“The next day I woke up looking like The Grudge. At least I was wearing a lovely pair of Hawaiian pyjamas, so every cloud has a silver lining.”

Barry also revealed she has been ‘loving’ this summer’s football, particularly the underdog stories of Cape Verde, Curacao and South Africa.

Helping struggling football fans recover from some late nights, Barry was seen refreshing members of the public with cooling face masks and Tropicana Hydrate+ pineapple and coconut water drinks.

And when it comes to surviving the late nights due to the awkward kick-off times, she urged fans to make sure they are getting enough kip around the games.

“I’d say make sure you sleep,” she said, “I’ve never understood it when people are like, ‘We’re going to have to ride it out.’ I have never been a ‘ride it out’ person.

“You need to go to bed, and you need to lie to yourself the next day you went to bed at 9pm. Make sure you chuck away your Oura Ring as well, which will tell you you’re going to suffer.”

Barry is hopeful about England’s chances of progressing further through the tournament. When asked if they could go all the way, she said: “God bless Harry Kane. A girl can dream!”
