The singer reportedly paid the restitution in full after being accused of causing $16,000 worth of damage at a New Mexico resort

Charges have been dropped against Bailey Zimmerman, the country singer who was accused of trashing his hotel room at the Sandia Resort and Casino in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in May.

In a statement to Rolling Stone on Wednesday, his attorney confirmed that the charges were dropped after Zimmerman “took immediate responsibility for his mistake.” His lawyer added, “We are grateful to the Pueblo of Sandia and the District Attorney’s Office for this just and swift resolution.”

According to documents previously obtained by Rolling Stone, an arrest warrant was issued for the country singer, 26, in June after he allegedly trashed his hotel room at the Sandia Resort and caused $16,000 in damage including a hole in a wall and a broken telephone. Zimmerman was facing charges of a fourth-degree felony for criminal damage to property over $1,000 and a misdemeanor for falsely obtaining services.

The Bernalillo County District Attorney’s Office said his case was dismissed because full restitution was made, KRQE reported.

News of the dropped charges arrived a day after Zimmerman, a former gas-pipeline worker who found fame on TikTok with songs like “Never Comin’ Home,” apologized for the incident.

“I want to apologize to the Pueblo of Sandia and to everyone at Sandia Resort & Casino. I never meant for any of this to come across as disrespectful. I am deeply sorry for my actions that transpired. I respect your community and the hospitality and appreciate the opportunity that was given to me to perform on Native Land,” Zimmerman wrote in a statement shared with Rolling Stone. “I take full accountability for everything that happened and I am sorry to anyone who feels hurt or disrespected.”
