A previously overlooked horror film is finally receiving the attention it deserves after landing on streaming platforms, reports the Mirror.

They Will Kill You was released in cinemas back in March, yet managed only an estimated £14.2 million ($19 million) at the box office.

Having recently arrived on streaming services such as HBO Max and NOW, it appears They Will Kill You is being given a well-deserved second chance to shine.

The film currently holds the top spot on HBO Max in the US and sits at number two on HBO UK and Ireland.

They Will Kill You stars Deadpool and Atlanta’s Zazie Beetz as ex-convict Asia Reaves, a woman who takes up a housekeeping position at a mysterious New York City high-rise, blissfully unaware of what her new role truly involves — until she uncovers the terrifying truth that she is working for a satanic cult intent on using her as their next human sacrifice.

Desperate to survive, Asia must draw on every ounce of her strength to fight back against the cult’s members while trapped inside the deadly mansion, using her prison-honed fighting skills to battle her captors and escape the booby-trapped building.

Alongside Beetz, the film boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including HBO’s Industry star Myha’la, British actor Paterson Joseph of Green Wing and The Noughts and Crosses fame, Harry Potter’s Tom Felton, Heather Graham of Austin Powers, and Severance’s Patricia Arquette.

Viewers can expect buckets of gore, visceral violence, and dark comedy throughout this action-horror-comedy.

Numerous viewers have already shared their thoughts on the film via IMDb, with one enthusiastic reviewer awarding it a perfect 10/10, posting: “What an epic gory action horror film with nonstop action and nonstop violence… Zazie Beetz steals the show as the avenging angel in this hellish, total bloodbath instant classic from the mind of Kirill Sokolov… I also love both Patricia Arquette and Heather Graham… It’s like watching a film from Quentin Tarantino and Sam Raimi…”

A 9/10 review read: “Wow! I absolutely loved this movie! Hyper-stylistic and fun action like in Kill Bill.”

The reviewer went further, describing the stunt sequences as “fantastically exciting” before concluding: “If you like these types of movies, then you will probably like this. I was thoroughly entertained.”

A third viewer declared it “absolutely entertaining”, drawing comparisons to the celebrated work of Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill director Quentin Tarantino.

They further remarked, “I hope this will be a cult classic in the future. This is on the top of my 2026 watch list so far.”

Yet another commenter drew parallels with Tarantino’s celebrated body of work, proclaiming, “We finally got a horror version of Kill Bill.”

Before adding: “This movie will go down as a classic cult movie most likely.”

They Will Kill You is available to watch on NOW and HBO UK & Ireland
