A titan of the New Hollywood, with a movie career spanning over 60 years, Clint Eastwood has an incredible back catalogue. From his Spaghetti Westerns and Dirty Harry movies to World War 2 action flicks, he’s portrayed many men of true grit.

Speaking with French outlet France 3 back in November, Kyle Eastwood, a professional musician, said at the time: “I have a lot of good memories of working with him. Now he’s retired, he’s 95 years old. But I’ve been very lucky to be able to work with him on a lot of films.”

The news will come as a shock to many, including his Sully screenwriter Todd Komarnicki, who previously told us he thought Eastwood would never retire. Todd told the Daily Express last year: “I can’t imagine him retiring, I think it’s more likely that he would die on set at 102 then retire.”
