Jack White Can Name Any Beatles Song Within a Single Second
Resurfaced video shows the guitarist nailing classics like “And Your Bird Can Sing” and “I’m Looking Through You”
Jack White has many talents, from upholstering furniture to running a record label. And now, in a resurfaced video, the singer-guitarist shows off his encyclopedic Beatles knowledge.
“So Jack, you claim you can name any Beatles song within one second,” an off-camera voice tells White, adding, “and you want to prove it right now?” White agrees and starts to listen intently, nailing each song: “Boys,” “Lady Madonna,” “And Your Bird Can Sing,” “Julia,” “Roll Over Beethoven,” “I’m Looking Through You,” and so on. (He only stumbles on one, choosing “Back In the U.S.S.R.” for “Dear Prudence,” but since he catches himself, we won’t count it.)
It’s unclear when exactly the video was filmed, but White posted it on YouTube four years ago, and it’s been shared online ever since. White’s label Third Man Records posted it via Instagram on Thursday, bringing it back to our attention — just in time for the release of Paul McCartney‘s new album The Boys of Dungeon Lane. The record, out May 29, marks his first new record in five years.
White was a surprise performer at Coachella 2026 last month, where he tore through his two new songs “G.O.D. and the Broken Ribs” and “Derecho Demonico.” He dropped the tracks ahead of his April 5 appearance on Saturday Night Live, an episode hosted by — fittingly — Jack Black. He’s touring extensively this year, kicking off in Europe this summer. He’ll play in the U.S. in the fall, capping with two evenings in Atlanta in late November.
