Rare Philips sale ‘trims and shaves’ with ‘no tugging’

Anyone with facial hair knows that shaving, trimming or shaping up can become a chore – particularly when using the wrong kit. But now, there’s a fast-selling deal on a razor that has been called the ‘perfect solution’ to shaving woes.

The Philips OneBlade Hybrid Electric Beard Trimmer & Shaver currently costs £36.99 on Amazon, a 33% reduction in its full price of £54.99. With over 2,000 bought in the past month alone, this hybrid shaver is evidently a hit with customers.

It can be used wet or dry – as it’s fully waterproof – and has a 60-minute battery life, so shoppers don’t have to constantly charge it up. It is said to be ‘designed to cut hair, not skin’, with an efficient, fast-moving cutter thanks to the Philips OneBlade Technology.

A 360 blade means it can easily ‘flex in all directions’ to give a smooth shave – even over difficult-to-reach areas. There is a five-in-one comb to make beard-trimming a breeze, and the stainless steel blade is said to last up to four months. When it’s ready to be changed, an eject icon will appear on the blade. The set includes the OneBlade 360, the adjustable comb, a replacement blade, a protection cap and a charging cable.

For a similarly hybrid shaver, shoppers could look to the Gillette Fusion One Hybrid Trimmer and Shaver for Face & Body, which costs £23.33, down from £34.99. This is for the trimmer only – there’s also a full body kit up for grabs, with both said to ensure ‘precision and comfort during every shave’.

For a fully electric option, Braun has the Series 3 ProSkin 3040s Electric Shaver for £119.99. It promises ‘a close and comfortable shave’ thanks to two foil shaving elements.

The Philips OneBlade Hybrid Shaver has averaged a 4.5-star score on Amazon from over 11,600 reviews. One shopper said: “I really love the versatility: it trims, edges, and shaves without any irritation. Unlike a traditional razor, there’s no pulling or tugging, and my skin feels comfortable after every use. The trimming combs make it easy to keep a tidy beard, and switching between lengths is quick and simple.”

Another said: “Excellent shaver. Have tried various brands and designs in the past… They don’t work for me. This is effective and has an excellent battery life. I can’t use foams or gels because they affect my skin. This is the perfect solution. Doesn’t “grate” the skin like other electric shavers.”

A further shopper called it a 10/10 device, saying as part of their review: “I’ve had a great shave with this and I’m surprised how close it cuts. It’s a cross between a manual razor and a full electric one. I didn’t experience any irritation or redness, which is great, and it doesn’t take long to shave, just be careful not to apply too much pressure.

Some shoppers shared some slight critiques, with one writing in their review: “Personally, I like this shaver. It is not the closest of shaves, but it suits me. Basically, it is a hybrid shaver (electric/manual), but there is no risk of cuts or abrasions due to the technology involved. I use it for dry shaving, but I am sure it is equally good for wet shaving. I would have given five stars but for the cost of replacement blades.” Another shopper also mentioned the price of blades, writing as part of their review: “The price of the shaver is great, but paying for replacement heads is going to sting.”
