Horror lovers have been urged to check out one of the most ‘underrated’ movies on Amazon Prime if they’re looking for a fright.

Film fan Eccy Reviews, who watches and rates TV shows and movies for a living, has recommended a ‘slept-on’ horror movie – claiming it to be “one of the scariest I’ve ever seen”.

Speaking about As Above So Below, the 2014 film that follows a group of friends through the catacombs under Paris’ most famous streets.

Its IMDb description reads: “Miles of twisting catacombs lie beneath the streets of Paris, the eternal home to countless souls.

“When a team of explorers ventures into the uncharted maze of bones, they uncover the dark secret that lies within this city of the dead.

“A journey into madness and terror, As Above, So Below reaches deep into the human psyche to reveal the personal demons that come back to haunt us all.”

Written by John Erick Dowdle and Drew Dowdle, the movie stars Perdita Weeks, Ben Feldman, and Edwin Hodge, and has won one award and six nominations.

Eccy said: “It’s one of the most terrifying films I have ever seen. I truly don’t understand why people don’t talk about this film enough.

“The small amount of people who have seen this film always say it’s good. So make sure you go and check this film out.”

Commenting on his TikTok post, one user said: “Thanks bro, will watch them at the weekend.”

Another added: “As Above So Below ending is so good.”

A third chimed: “I’ve lost count the amount of times I’ve watched this movie I love it. on YouTube type in ‘exploring with fighters catacombs Paris’ he went in there and filmed it.”

On IMDb, one viewer also wrote: “I wasn’t expecting much to be honest, as the whole found footage genre seems to have died a death, but this is surprisingly good.

“It begins in dramatic fashion, and for the most part doesn’t let up, anyone that suffers with claustrophobia or a feeling of being trapped will appreciate the efforts of the film, or not.

“Some creepy scenes, I liked the part where the phone was ringing, that was atmospheric, as well as the push deeper into the cave. Perdita Weeks was excellent in the role.”

Another added: “I knew very little going into this movie and it did not disappoint.

“Originally I gave this movie 6/10 but upon hitting up the Trivia section and realising some subtle intricacies I’d missed and just how much detail was in the movie I bumped up to an 8/10. One of the best finds I’ve found in a while.”
