Becky G Details Sebastian Lletget Cheating Scandal

Becky G is opening up about the scandal she experienced with former fiancée and current boyfriend Sebastian Lletget. During her appearance on Call Her Daddy, the singer confirmed that she and the Argentine-American soccer player are still together — and didn’t hold back about the challenges she faced in the fallout after his infidelity came to light.

“It was so hard to shut out the noise and the ‘insiders say she didn’t even say anything. They just swept it under the rug and kept it moving.’ Like, no. I called off my engagement. I took off my ring,” Becky admitted to Alex Cooper. “There are things here that took place behind closed doors privately between me and this person who I love and care for deeply, who I’ve been betrayed by,” she added.

In March 2023, Lletget, an Argentine-American soccer player, made a public apology to Becky G after rumors online surfaced that he had been unfaithful to the singer. At that point, the couple had been together for seven years and engaged for several months. By November of that year, Becky G and Lletget were spotted in public together, though the singer was not wearing her engagement ring.

Becky G was candid about navigating the situation in the public eye during her Call Her Daddy appearance. “There’s a private heartbreak that’s taking place and then there’s a public heartbreak that’s taking place and both are extremely painful,” she said, adding, “But what was I think the hardest part for me to navigate through was giving myself that space and grace to make that decision for myself.”

Following the couple’s quick reconciliation after the scandal, the singer faced criticism from fans online. “People who don’t know me don’t should not have a say in what I do with my life,” Becky G said about the public response to her personal life.

It’s not the first time the singer opened up about her relationship, though it is the most she’s shared since everything went down. Last December, Becky G released her documentary Rebbeca, where she discussed the scrutiny that she faced. The documentary left the question of Becky G and Lletget’s relationship open-ended. At the time, the singer discussed the film and its objectives with Rolling Stone. “It’s about identity, healing, forgiveness, and honoring the people and places that made me,” she said.
