‘Absolute rollercoaster’ action comedy dominating Netflix | Films | Entertainment

Netflix subscribers simply cannot get enough of a newly added action comedy featuring the ‘best team up ever’.

Bad Boys Ride Or Die was only added to the platform’s catalogue on Friday. Initially released in cinemas back in 2024, it now means the complete film series is accessible on the streamer.

Yet it appears that thus far, viewers have been diving straight into the most recent sequel rather than embarking on a movie marathon.

Merely a couple of days after becoming available it has swiftly become one of the most viewed films amongst UK subscribers.

At the time of writing, it is the fourth most viewed title on the service. This positions it just behind the recently released Peaky Blinders movie, Louis Theroux’s latest documentary and the BAFTA winning I Swear.

According to the film’s synopsis, the world’s favourite Bad Boys are back with their iconic mix of edge-of-your seat action and outrageous comedy but this time with a twist: Miami’s finest are now on the run. It is the fourth instalment in the Bad Boys franchise after the series was revived with the 2021 release Bad Boys For Life , reports the Mirror.

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence reprise their roles of Mike and Marcus respectively as they face their toughest case yet as their late captain’s reputation hangs in the balance. Subsequently, they unravel a complex web of cartel connections in a high-stakes mission.

They are accompanied in the cast by the likes of Vanessa Hudgens, Jacob Scipio, Rhea Seehorn and Eric Dane, who tragically passed away recently aged 53. Whilst the film failed to impress critics overwhelmingly, it proved a relative success with devoted fans of the franchise who have followed it since the original launched in 1995.

It may only hold a 65% rating on Rotten Tomatoes but its audience score on the same platform reaches 96%. Numerous viewers have expressed their opinions online regarding the film.

One enthusiast wrote: “Bad Boys: Ride or Die is an absolute rollercoaster of a movie that left me breathless and wanting more. From start to finish, this action-packed film delivered non-stop thrills, laughter, and an intense storyline that kept me on the edge of my seat.”

They added: “Let me tell you, this movie is a perfect ten out of ten! The chemistry between the lead actors, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, is off the charts. Their banter and camaraderie are so natural and hilarious that I found myself laughing out loud throughout the entire film. Their comedic timing is impeccable, and their on-screen presence is simply electric.”

Another simply declared: “Mike and Marcus are at it once again. Years later, and we still get greatness from Will and Martin in one of the best team-ups ever.”

Another viewer remarked: “This was the best Bad Boys out of all of them and it’s very hard to compete against Bad Boys 2 but Ride or Die out best it. Action packed with a great comedy chemistry, the new direction of the film has created an instant classic film.”
