New Jesus Easter movie with Game of Thrones star has just hit cinemas | Films | Entertainment
There’s been a resurgence of Biblical adaptations in recent years, from The King of Kings to the ongoing TV series, The Chosen.
Jamie Ward stars as Jesus Christ as he enters Jerusalem on Palm Sunday and prepares for his death and resurrection.
Co-starring as Caiaphas, the High Priest of Israel, is James Faulkner, who played Randyll Tarly in Game of Thrones.
Interestingly, he also portrayed Saint Paul in the 2018 movie Paul, Apostle of Christ.
The new Easter film’s synopsis reads: “In Jerusalem, on the night before his arrest, Jesus shares a final meal with his twelve disciples. As bread is broken and wine is shared, words of love, warning, and revelation expose hidden fears and quiet betrayals. While faith is tested and destiny draws near, one disciple prepares to change history forever in this reverent portrayal of one of the most significant moments in Christian tradition. Anchored in humanity and quiet tension, The Last Supper captures the love, fear, and faith that shaped these final, pivotal hours, a moment that would echo through history for centuries to come.”
The Last Supper is out now in UK and Irish cinemas.
