Free streaming apps worth £240 with Sky TV plan sign up by this date

Sky is rolling out free streaming subscriptions this month as part of a big update to its TV packages. Customers who choose the £22 Ultimate TV bundle will get access to Disney+, HBO Max, and Hayu at no extra cost.

These subscriptions join the already included Netflix and discovery+, offering a total value of over £20 a month – or around £240 a year. The offer applies to both existing Ultimate TV customers and anyone signing up before the changes take effect.

One important point to remember though, is that Sky plans to increase the Ultimate TV price by £2 per month from 1 April. To lock in the bundle with Disney+, HBO Max and Hayu at the current price, customers need to sign up by 31 March.

By doing so, subscriptions to Disney+ Standard with Ads, HBO Max Basic with Ads and Hayu will be automatically incorporated into the package at launch. HBO Max is scheduled to launch on March 26, whilst the precise dates this month that Disney+ and Hayu will be incorporated remain to be confirmed.

Alongside complimentary streaming, Sky’s Ultimate TV bundle features more than 130 channels including Sky Atlantic, Sky One, plus news, sports and children’s channels. There’s also the possibility to enhance the package with Sky Cinema or Sky Sports channels for £10 and £20 respectively, reports Wales Online.

The deal comes as Disney+ rolls out a host of new and returning shows, including Ryan Murphy’s The Beauty, Paradise season two, and the Scrubs revival series. HBO Max will soon feature blockbuster franchises like DC, Game of Thrones, and Harry Potter, including the upcoming series based on The Philosopher’s Stone.

The bundle will also include access to TNT Sports, though a separate TNT subscription is needed for full coverage. Sky also reminds customers that prices ‘may change’ during the 24-month minimum term, so it’s worth keeping that in mind.

Elsewhere, Virgin Media provides Sky Atlantic and complimentary Netflix through its competing Entertainment bundle. For £31.99, subscribers gain access to over 200 channels, Netflix Standard with Ads and 362Mbps broadband.
