Kehlani to Release Self-Titled Album Next Month

Kehlani officially announced the release of their highly-anticipated studio album, Kehlani, which is set to arrive April 24 via Atlantic Records.

On Tuesday, the singer took to Instagram to reveal the self-titled project, noting that its release will coincide with their 31st birthday, marking a full-circle moment in their life and career.

Ending the message with “k5,” Kehlani subtly nodded to the project’s place as their fifth studio album overall.

In a follow-up post, they added that alternate cover exclusives will be available until 12 p.m. ET on March 20 via their official website, giving fans a limited-time opportunity to engage with the limited rollout.

The upcoming LP also signals a new chapter following their 2024 album Crash, which featured the Grammy-nominated single “After Hours.”

Demand for new music from Kehlani has been fueled by their 2025 single “Folded.”

Produced by D’Mile, the popular slow-burner was hailed as one of the year’s defining hits, earning the singer a Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Kehlani discussed performing the song live, where the only vocal tracks they use are background parts and dance breaks. “There’s not a lot of room for breath in the lead of ‘Folded,’” Kehlani said. “It’s traveling through a lot of my range. You don’t really realize, until you have to sing that with no support, that you just got to smack that lead up and down. It’s been a funny thing, but I think I got the hang of it now.”

Reaching the Top 10 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Songs chart, the song sparked the viral “Folded Challenge,” with artists like Brandy, Toni Braxton, Mario, JoJo, Josh Levi, and Jai’Len Josey contributing their own renditions.
