Game of Thrones may have ended in 2019, but George RR Martin’s Westeros has plenty of spin-offs out now and in the works.

Aside from House of the Dragon and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, there’s now a Game of Thrones movie in the works.

Scooped by The Wrap, the upcoming film is being penned by Beau Willimon, the showrunner of House of Cards and Andor.

As for what the movie is about or where it’s set in A Song of Ice and Fire’s timeline remains a mystery for now.

It’s possible this is the same film that got buzz a couple of years ago that, at the time, was in the “very early stage development, with no filmmaker, cast or writer yet attached.”

Martin himself has previously expressed interest in a Game of Thrones movie as far back as 2014. In fact, the main series almost concluded with three feature films instead of the poorly received final season. This news will undoubtedly bring fans some much-needed excitement as they continue to wait for the penultimate A Song of Ice and Fire novel, The Winds of Winter.
