Next James Bond casting announcement latest for Amazon 007 reboot ‘It’s insane’ | Films | Entertainment
Speaking at the end of his latest episode of The Town podcast, Belloni essentially called the casting rumours around Elordi bonkers.
He shared: “It’s insane. Just so people know, there has been no actor cast as James Bond. There has been no script delivered yet. Steven Knight is still working on the script. They will not choose a James Bond, likely until the spring or summer, I am told. So we do not have a James Bond yet, and honestly, my prediction is it’s probably not going to be Jacob Elordi.
“The guy’s too famous at this point. He’s 6ft 5, would you believe a spy that sticks out in every room that he’s in? I just feel like there’s no discovery in that. They’re going to pick someone, in my opinion, that is a good actor, up and coming in the 27 to 32-ish range because they want to start over with a younger Bond. It’s more likely going to be someone like a Callum Turner than it is a Jacob Elordi.”
Both Elordi and Turner are the bookies’ favourites to be cast as the next Bond and keep leapfrogging each other for first place. Belloni added: “I know they want to go young. And they also want someone to sign a pretty onerous deal with Amazon, where they would get him for a TV spinoff. They would get him for multiple movies. And is Jacob Elordi going to sign on to that? I don’t know.” By the sounds of it, the new Bond would be cameoing in TV spin-offs as well as his movies – perhaps the Q or Moneypenny adventures? Please no, Amazon.
