Major supermarket sells Easter chocolate that’s ‘better than Cadbury Creme Eggs’
Even though it’s just February, supermarkets are already gearing up for the second-largest food celebration of the year: Easter. In recent weeks, anyone paying close attention may have noticed seasonal chocolates beginning to appear on store shelves, such as Easter eggs, speckled eggs, bunny-themed goodies, and more.
Now, Marks and Spencer has introduced a product that food enthusiasts are comparing to the iconic Cadbury Creme Egg, and it looks so luxurious. The supermarket’s website reads: “Light-hearted, gooey and hard to resist, our Sunny Side Up Whips are a cheeky take on a chocolate classic. These milk chocolate treats are filled with fluffy white mallow and a zesty orange sauce, and finished with a white chocolate topper that looks just like a sunny-side-up egg.”
Shoppers on Facebook drooled over the launch of the seasonal treat, with one claiming: “These are elite compared to a Creme Egg.” A second joked, “My waist just got bigger looking at these.”
A third commented, “Now these are better than Cadbury creme eggs”. Two others described them as being “mouth-watering” and absolutely delicious.
Food blogger Gluten Free Lunch Box reviewed the Sunny Side Up chocolates, describing them as “tasty with a burst of orange sauce”.
She added, “The chocolate is creamy, but not overly sweet. If you’ve not tried an M&S whip, I’d definitely recommend it. They are super delicious.”
On Instagram, the @thehungryfoodmonsters pointed out that the “thick milk chocolate is seriously smooth,” but noted that they would’ve loved “a bit more sauce for an extra citrusy punch”.
The Sunny Side Up Whips come in a pack of four for £5.75, or you can buy a single pack for £1.45.
M&S has been busy creating more than just one Easter delight recently. The Speckled Egg Cookies have returned to the in-store bakery following an “overwhelming demand” for these tasty treats.
Packets of Speckled Eggs are back on store shelves, and shoppers are praising them as being “much better” than Cadbury Mini Eggs.
