Family-friendly restaurant chain Prezzo has introduced a subscription service which it suggests could help a household save almost £1,500 annually on dining expenses. Timed to launch during the half term school break, the Prezzo Italian Kids Club is priced at £1.99 monthly – or £19.99 annually.

In return, households can receive up to three complimentary children’s meals whenever an adult purchases a full-priced main course. Prezzo maintains the proposition represents the UK’s first dining initiative of its type, enabling families to reduce costs throughout the year. The terms and conditions indicate it covers up to three youngsters who can each receive a complimentary three-course children’s meal per visit from Prezzo’s standard children’s menu, alongside the purchase of one full-priced adult main dish, reports the Mirror.

Whilst it’s limited to once daily, that still provides numerous occasions.

Prezzo explained that, should a household with three youngsters utilise the arrangement once weekly throughout the year, it would deliver savings of £1,462 across the 12-month period, even accounting for the £19.99 annual subscription.

That would require frequent Prezzo visits, admittedly, and excludes the expense of the adult dish and any beverages for either adults or youngsters. It’s also restricted to children aged two to 12 and the establishment’s standard children’s menu exclusively.

James Brown, chief executive of Prezzo Italian, said: “We know that family life is busy, especially for larger families juggling multiple little ones. As a dad of two, I understand how valuable it is to have somewhere reliable to go where kids are looked after, have fun and eat well, whilst parents can get a break.

“That’s why we wanted to create something genuinely helpful, built around real families, offering everyday value all year round. This isn’t just a half term deal or a one off promotion, but real, everyday value that parents can rely on, especially when budgets are stretched.”

While Prezzo’s offer runs for longer, numerous other restaurants, pubs and establishments are providing special half term promotions, where children can dine either free of charge or for £1.

As ever, it’s advisable to verify the complete details and terms and conditions beforehand: certain offers necessitate an adult meal purchase or are restricted to specific days or times.
