Roman shoppers hail £40 spring dress as ‘excellent wardrobe staple’

Fashion lovers are raving about a dress on the Roman website as they are calling it an ‘excellent wardrobe staple’ and ‘very flattering’. The brand itself is known for its high-quality items – and it seems this one is no different.

Now, the Textured Wrap Bodice Midi Dress is available for £40 and it comes in three different colours – black, navy and red. When it comes to sizing, the dress is also available in sizes 10 to 20 and it features a V-neckline, classic short sleeves and is ‘designed in a timeless fit and flare silhouette,’ according to the website description.

The design of the dress accentuates the waistline and it has a wrap-style bodice. The dress is made from 95% polyester and 5% elastane, as well as being fully machine washable when it comes to caring for it. 

Whether it’s for the office, drinks with friends or layering for daytime or evening, this could be a solid choice. M&S also has great clothes options – and for an alternative, there is the Finery London Ponte Jersey Midi Dress for £49 in the colour navy. 

This one comes in five colours in total, three of which are in the sale, sizes 8 to 24, and customers say it fits true to size. Next also has a Friends Like These Black High Neck Long Sleeve Midi Dress for £48, for those looking to dress up a little more.

It comes in sizes eight to 24, as well as three colours: black, blue geo (£50) and green. This one has a high neckline, bow detailing around the neck and long puff sleeves. 

The Roman dress has garnered a 4.7 out of five-star rating, however, on the website. One person wrote: “Unusual smart little black dress. Dress up or down. Excellent wardrobe staple. Hangs well and flattering. Good midi length for me, (I’m) 5’7″.”

Another said: “Found the dress very comfortable, size is spot on, washes really well.” A third commented: “Beautiful dress, I’m so happy with it. Excellent quality and value. Great length and lovely blue.”

Not every dress will be for everyone and one person disagreed slightly, saying: “Love the material and style, although very long. I had to shorten it to suit me.” Another wrote: “I love this dress and it’s very flattering, but I had to sew the V-neck top together because it was gaping open.”
