‘Perfect winter coat’ slashed to under £40
It’s not yet time to put away our winter gear, and with more cold coming our way, a good jacket is still a go-to. But if you’re tired of the coat you’ve been wearing all winter long, it’s a great time to invest in something new, as Roman is running a huge sale, with extra discounts on outerwear. Our favourite is a hooded, quilted coat that normally costs £69, which shoppers can snap up for as low as £38.
The retailer’s Faux Fur Hooded Quilt Coat comes in four versatile shades, and the discount applies to all of them. Sizes range from 10 to 20, and while all are available in charcoal and khaki at the time of writing, size 12 is out of stock in black, and sage is only available in sizes 10 and 18.
The coat is up to 30% off during the sale, but shoppers get an extra 20% off when they use the code COSY at checkout. The biggest discount is on the khaki version, which is 30% off. With the added discount, the jacket works out to £38.40. The rest of the colours are 10% off, bringing the price to £49.50.
The puffer is made with a synthetic filling and chevron-patterned stitching, a slight variation from more plain designs. Winter coats can feel quite boxy, but the way this is made creates an illusion of a more defined silhouette that looks cinched in at the waist, without the need for a belt.
Shoppers were pleased with the design, with one saying: ” Great looking coat! It’s warm & stylish…I’m very pleased with it…looks good on too!”
Another called it the “perfect winter coat”, writing: “Lovely shape, even though it’s a very thick and warm jacket. Size 12 is very roomy and a good length.”
The jacket zips up the front with a two-way zipper and features a faux-fur-trimmed hood, which is great for keeping you extra toasty. It also has elasticated cuffs and functional pockets that snap shut with popper buttons for keeping your valuables while on a walk.
“This jacket is so lovely,” wrote one shopper. “It fits very well and feels very well made and well finished. It is also VERY WARM!”
Another said: “Good fit, warm for autumn days. Elasticated cuffs to keep draughts out. Appears to be shower proof, dried quickly after getting caught in the rain.”
Several customers thought the jacket was handy for driving, with one saying: “It has a nice length to it. The zip opens at the bottom, handy if you’re driving, etc. The neck is high and fits closely and should be cosy when it’s cold.”
Another, who got it in the charcoal shade, said: “I liked the look of this jacket and liked the charcoal colour, which is different from the black I usually buy. It’s very warm, and the length is just right for driving.
It’s worth noting that Roman does not specify whether the coat is waterproof, so there is no guarantee it will work as well as a raincoat, which may be a dealbreaker for some.
