A sweet dog has been languishing in kennels for three years while desperately waiting for someone to offer her a forever home – but tragically, nobody has stepped forward.

Little Frida was rescued by Miracle’s Mission as a puppy but continues to be passed over by would-be adopters because of her supposedly “unloveable face”.

The unfortunate pup, who is available for rehoming throughout the UK, “walks differently” following an accident that occurred just months after her birth in Bosnia. This could be the tragic reason people keep overlooking her.

A statement from the rescue centre reads: “Frida was rescued by a kind lady when she was a puppy and has lived in a shelter ever since.

“When she was rescued, she had an injured leg – presumably after being hit by a car. She was assessed by an orthopaedic specialist in Bosnia and her leg was operated on to straighten it.”

“It healed very well, and she has no issues walking, running or playing. Her rescuer does not believe this old injury bothers her at all.”

The three year old canine has excellent recall and can “turn her paw to anything given the right motivation, love and support”.

She travels comfortably in vehicles and is accustomed to human company, as the shelter owner “takes her everywhere with her”.

The statement continues: “She weighs around 15kg and is spayed and vaccinated. She is brilliant with people and other dogs and has no reported behavioural concerns.

“She is a very well-rounded and amenable dog. Frida is an active dog and would like to live with another playful, energetic dog.

“Her rescuer does training with her, her recall is good, and she can turn her paw to anything given the motivation, love and support.”

However, after enduring three lengthy years in kennels, the rescue centre has posted a fresh appeal on Facebook, hoping to spark more interest.

The post reads: “Apparently this is an unloveable face. For over three years, sweet Frida has waited for a suitable home.

“She is amazing with dogs and people, even kids. She loves going for walks and riding in the car. You can take her to the pub or a cafe, and she loves being sociable. What more can she do to get your attention?”.

Reacting to her rehoming plea, one user commented: “Darling Frida, you look adorable. Shared with love and hope for you.”

Another user chimed in: “Wish we were living near you. What a sweetheart.” A third user simply stated: “So cute.”

Anyone interested in offering Frida, or another dog under Miracle’s Mission’s care, a new home can reach out to the team at info@miraclesmission.org.
