Flowers are a classic Valentine’s Day gift, but they can sometimes feel like a lot of money spent on something that won’t last very long. We’ve found some flowers that actually do last forever, and, as some shoppers have put it, can even deliver the “best Valentine’s activity ever”. They come in the form of Lego’s Botanicals range. Designed specifically for adults, it offers an impressive variety of buildable flowers and plants, from full flower arrangements priced up to £94.99, to individual blooms like daisies and tulips starting at just £12.99. The collection also includes a bouquet of red roses for anyone after a timeless Valentine’s gift – and we’ve spotted it with 25% off in the Argos sale.

The Lego Bouquet of Roses Flowers Set usually sells for £55 (£54.99 at Lego), but right now it’s been reduced to £41.25 at Argos.

Inside the box are 822 Lego pieces – enough to build a dozen long-stemmed red roses, plus four sprigs of baby’s breath for extra detail. The dozen roses create a traditional bouquet, but the real charm is in the variation. The flowers are shown at three stages: four in bud, four blooming, and four in full bloom, giving the whole arrangement a more realistic look.

The set comes split into six separate bags, and the building instructions are included both in the box and digitally via Lego’s Builder app.

Shoppers on Lego’s website have praised the set, with one describing the build as the “best Valentine’s activity ever”. Another added: “I loved building them with my husband, so if you are looking for a creative romantic date night, this is the best thing for you.”

A third reviewer highlighted the attention to detail, writing: “I really like how the roses are in different ‘stages’ of maturity because it’s more visually appealing than 12 of the same build in a vase… Very satisfying to build! The baby’s breath is a dainty touch that brings the whole bouquet together into a complete feeling product.”

Beyond being fun to put together, a Lego bouquet can feel like a more sustainable option than fresh flowers, which eventually dry out and get thrown away. The same shopper added: “It’s always felt a bit wasteful to receive a $20-$30 [£14.60-£21.90] bouquet of a dozen roses, and I love that for $60 [approx. £43], or on two occasions, I’ll have something that will last forever. My friends who have seen it have been really excited and nudged their husbands. We all agree that Lego really knocked it out of the park with this one and that these will fly off the shelves for Valentine’s Day.”

Plenty of others agreed, with one shopper writing: “They are made to last a lifetime so you really get your money out of it, and the best of all is that you don’t have to worry about allergies!”

A similar bouquet of pink roses is also available from Lego and Argos, with the same discount applied at Argos. Like the red version, it includes a dozen pink roses and four sprigs of baby’s breath, but this set is made up of 789 pieces.

If roses feel a bit too obvious (or if you want to buy your loved one their favourite flower), the Lego Botanicals range likely has something to suit. It also includes individual flower varieties that can be bought on their own or added to a bouquet, including pairs of roses and sunflowers, as well as more unusual options like cherry blossoms and lotus flowers.

One of the most budget-friendly sets is the Daisies set, one of the newest additions to the range, which retails for just £12.99. This mini bouquet features three stems of large white daisies, two smaller ones, three lavender sprigs for a pop of colour, and a tiny ladybug resting on one of the flowers. It’s much smaller than the full bouquets, with only 133 pieces, but Lego says that also makes it suitable for kids aged nine and up.

Shoppers are loving the Daisies set too, with many pointing out how quick and easy it is to build. One reviewer wrote: “I love this set, I love how it looks! Quick lil build while having quiet time with my toddler! Easy enough for him to help, but simple enough that I won’t get overstimulated with him helping!”

Another said: “My favourite flowers are daisies, so of course I was going to get this set; so happy I did! It’s so cute, and there were two ladybugs in my set! It was a fast build, it looks cute and doesn’t take a lot of space on bookshelves already crowded with Lego Botanicals!”

While feedback is overwhelmingly positive, a few shoppers did mention struggling to find the right vase for their daisies. One commented: “I was so excited for this set and bought it as soon as it was released. It’s very easy and fun. The small sets are great, but my only issue is trying to find a good vase for them.” Another echoed the sentiment, writing: “Just wish Lego would sell a vase for these small botanical sets.”
