Five years on from when Daniel Craig exploded himself out of the 007 film franchise and fans are still waiting for his successor.

Amazon MGM Studios has hired Dune trilogy’s Denis Villeneuve to direct the Bond 26 reboot, with Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight on screenwriting duties.

As for who will be cast as the seventh official 007 actor, there’s been some big movements in the bookies’ race of late.

According to Coral, Tom Hiddleston has seen his odds cut from 12-1 down to 8-1 following the series 2 finale of The Night Manager, in which he plays an MI6 spy. At 44, the Loki actor isn’t necessarily too old to start playing Bond, given Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan were all a similar age at their debut. However, rumour has it Amazon are looking for a younger Bond for the reboot and Wuthering Heights’ Jacob Elordi has reportedly been in talks with the director.

Elordi’s odds have been cut from 16-1 down to 8-1 with Coral’s John Hill saying of the 28-year-old: “We have seen a surge of support for Jacob Elordi over the last 24 hours.
