The Beatles biopics set video and photos see London transformed into 1964 NYC | Films | Entertainment
Last week, Sony Pictures released the first look images of Paul Mescal (Paul McCartney), Barry Keoghan (Ringo Starr), Joseph Quinn (George Harrison) and Harris Dickinson (John Lennon) transformed into the Fab Four.
It’s clear that at least a couple of the lads have some facial prosthetics to get as close as possible to The Beatles’ features for the ambitious four biopics, currently being directed by Sir Sam Mendes for an April 2028 cinematic release.
An epic set video and photos captured Beatlemania back in full swing in London this past weekend, as the British capital was transformed into 1964 New York.
Recreating the Fab Four’s US arrival with screaming fans and police barricades, the four stars in character were spotted being ushered into a mock-up Plaza Hotel entrance. Extras were playing police officers, marshalling teenage girls with placards, as the fire department stood by with its engine. Among the snaps are some great close-up shots of the four stars in character with their iconic Beatles mop haircuts.
The four Beatles movie biopics are officially backed by the Fab Four’s estates and will include their music. Sir Sam Mendes is on director’s duty across all of them with Jez Butterworth, Peter Straughan and Jack Thorne on screenwriting duties. Given all four films are out April 2028, we’d guess that’s one a week in cinemas and probably in the order of Paul, Ringo, George, John, given that’s how the production is ordering the names instead of the usual John, Paul, George, Ringo.
