Tyler, the Creator returned to the Grammys stage for a fiery performance of his Chromakopia hits.

The rapper came out donning his full shamrock green suit, inspired by the Chromakopia visuals, and ripped through boisterous renditions of “Thought I Was Dead” and “Like Him” (which features Lola Young, who did not perform with him onstage). The entire performance was a masterclass in storytelling, with various plot lines and scenes.

At one point, the rapper made a pit stop at a gas station owned by none other than Regina King. He then did a full outfit change, and came out sporting a firefighter fit to close out the theatrical set with party-starter “Sugar on My Tongue” from his 2025 release Don’t Tap the Glass.

Tyler, the Creator closed the show with a literal bang: he mimicked a dynamite explosion and flung himself to the Grammys floor, panting and covered in smoke after giving his latest Grammys performance his all.

The rapper is up for six awards at the 2026 Grammys, including Album of the Year and Best Rap Album for Chromakopia. The album also earned him Best Album Cover (the category was revived this year), which Tyler won earlier in the night. He was also up for Best Rap Performance for “Darling, I” and Best Rap Song for his feature-heavy “Sticky.” The rapper is also up for Best Alternative Music Album for his dance-forward LP, Don’t Tap the Glass.

The two-time Grammy winner previously picked up awards for Best Rap Album; in 2019, he took home the award for the first time for IGOR, in 2022, he secured it for Call Me If You Get Lost. For the 2026 Grammys, he joins fellow rap acts Clipse and Pharrell Williams as the night’s hip-hop performances.

2025 was a huge year for the rapper. On top of suprise-releasing Don’t Tap the Glass on the heels of the chart-topping Chromakopia, he kicked off his sold-out world tour, returned to the Lollapalooza stage, hosted another successful year of his Camp Flog Gnaw festival, and made his film debut in Josh Safdie’s Marty Supreme, starring alongside Timothée Chalamet and Gwyneth Paltrow.
