A book that came up time and time again, with different reactions and emotions, was The Last Letter by Rebecca Yarros. I decided to buy it, and I ended up reading it in just one day. It ended up being one of the best, but most heartbreaking, books I have ever read.

It’s a contemporary romance with a deeply emotional, heart-wrenching story about love, loss, family and resilience.

The story centres on two people brought together by a promise, one made in the wake of tragedy, and follows how their lives slowly intertwine as they navigate responsibility, heartbreak and hope.

Set against a small-town backdrop, the novel explores what it means to show up for others when life is overwhelming.

Yarros blends spicy romance scenes with themes of family, duty, and resilience, creating a story that’s as tender as it is intense.

This isn’t a lighthearted love story, though; it’s raw, heartfelt and deeply emotional. Readers who enjoy emotional, character-driven romances with powerful connections will love this book.

I read it in a single day, which took about nine hours. From the very first chapter, it was impossible to put down. What makes the book stand out to me is how it unexpectedly unfolds.

Just when you think you understand where the story is heading, the clever writing adds many twists and turns.

By the time I finished, I didn’t just feel sad or moved, I felt changed. The Last Letter offers many lessons and teaches you to see life in a different light.

It teaches you to value time, connection and courage. It is, without question, one of the best books I’ve ever read.

I purchase all of my books on my Kindle via Amazon and find it the cheapest way to read fast. You can also find it at Waterstones and Blackwells.
