A £1.19 buy from Home Bargains cleans my air fryer better than anything else
It seems not many people can live without an air fryer these days. Amid rising energy costs, they’re an efficient way to cook foods quicker than your traditional oven. But if you don’t use trays inside them, the grease and grime can build up and even a wash after each use doesn’t always get them fully clean.
There are various degreasing sprays on the shelves that all promise to get rid of the build-up of food and grease but we’ve found one that works better than them all. Costing just £1.19 from Home Bargains, the Elbow Grease Air Fryer Cleaner Spray is made specifically for cleaning the popular kitchen devices.
From the well-known brand Elbow Grease, I use it to clean the basket on my Ninja Foodie Multi-Cooker, which is used for air frying, grilling and lots more.
I’d vowed to not let my air fryer get into a mess and to clean it after each use. But over time there’s still been a build-up of that stuck-on grime that becomes so hard to shift. I’d used various products to try to remove it before but nothing really worked and I wasn’t convinced anything would really do the trick.
But this new Elbow Grease Air Fryer Cleaner, which is also available at the likes of B&M, The Range and Savers for £1.29, is brilliant and, with a ‘lemon fresh’ fragrance, it smells lovely too. When it says ‘spray, wipe, rinse’, that’s literally all you have to do. For burnt on food, you leave for a few minutes before wiping and rinsing.
Goodness knows how long the burnt-on residue had been in mine, but it still shifted the majority of it, leaving just a few speckles. Elbow Grease describes it as a ‘powerful degreaser’ which ‘makes air fryer cleaning quick and simple – just spray, wipe and rinse for a sparkling finish and fresh lemon smell’.
It’s one of a number of products available in the Elbow Grease range, including the Elbow Grease Oven and Grill Heavy Duty Cleaner, costing from £1.69, and suitable for ovens, BBQs, racks or grills. They also do a Oven Cleaning Kit to ‘deep clean racks and grills’ costing from £2.19.
