Netflix has just released a thrilling sports film that’s being hailed as one of the best things on the streaming service right now.

This intense Japanese animation has already had viewers on the edge of their seats after dropping on the platform today (Wednesday, 31st January).

The film follows a gifted runner who begins training an untested rookie, whose determination is matched by his inexperience.

However, as the years go one, the star athlete slowly realises he has inadvertently created his fiercest rival.

Featuring impeccable, jaw-dropping animated sequences and an unforgettable climax, 100 Meters is a must-watch for sports fans, anime enthusiasts and anyone who needs a shot of adrenaline for the new year.

One fan took to X with a bold claim, writing: “One of the best sports dramas.”

Accolades continued on Letterboxd where one last fan said: “Had a complete Challengers experience with this!!! I’ve never cared about track and field, still don’t, but the direction, score, and performances in this all blew me completely away.

“There’s a sequence where it starts to rain and there’s like a 2-3 minute single long take that just had me going “f*** yeah” and pumping my fist. Lots of sequences and set pieces that had me transcending levels of existence.
