Avengers Doomsday trailer unveils Chris Evans Captain America return with baby | Films | Entertainment
Having leaked online last week, Marvel Studios has finally released the first teaser trailer for Avengers Doomsday.
Expected to be a direct sequel to Avengers Endgame, with directors The Russo Brothers returning, the first footage reveals the return of Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers.
Fans will remember Captain America returned the Infinity Stones to the past (or did he?) and went back to the 1940s to marry Peggy Carter and have the life he was previously denied.
Having naturally aged to be an old man (and spitting image of Joe Biden), he handed his shield to Sam Wilson, making him the new Cap.
However, this Avengers Doomsday trailer reveals a young Steve living in the 1940s and with – big shock – a baby he’s had with Peggy.
The directors teased: “The character that changed our lives. The story that brought us all here together. It was always going to come back to this…”
Rumours abound that Robert Downey Jr’s Doctor Doom, a villain from another universe (and spitting image of the late Tony Stark) is hunting Steve for meddling with the multiverse to get his own happy ending.
Doom made his debut in the end credits scene of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, kidnapping the reality-bending toddler Franklin Richards, the son of Reed Richards and Susan Storm.
Thor and Doom teasers are expected to play in IMAX theatres a week apart, before a proper trailer for the movie is released.
Avengers Doomsday hits UK cinemas on December 18, 2026.
