Rufus Wainwright, Lucius, Lord Huron Join ‘Concert for Altadena’
The full lineup for A Concert for Altadena is here. The event announced that Rufus Wainwright, Lucius, and Lord Huron will also be performing at the Jan. 7 concert, scheduled for the Pasadena Civic Auditorium to benefit those affected by the Eaton Fire. Actor John C. Reilly, an Altadena resident, will host the event.
The show, led by Dawes, will also feature stars such as Brad Paisley, the Killers’ Brandon Flowers, Stephen Stills, Jackson Browne, Mandy Moore, Aloe Blacc, and Jenny Lewis. Alt-rock veterans Everclear and the multi-genre collective Ozomatli will also play their own sets, with Taboo from Black Eyed Peas performing alongside the Latino group.
Proceeds are set to go toward the Altadena Builds Back Foundation, part of the Pasadena Community Foundation. The foundation supports long-term housing recovery, food assistance, interim housing, mental health support, and more relief for families affected. “It’s gonna be a heavy night,” Dawes said in a statement when it first announced the show, “but it’s going to be a beautiful one too.”
Dawes’ Griffin Goldsmith lost his home in Altadena, and his brother Taylor’s home studio and much of the band’s gear were destroyed in the same area. John C. Reilly’s home in Altadena was also completely burnt down.
Tickets for the event went on sale on Nov. 7, with VIP packages still available along with meet and greets and exclusive memorabilia. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and the event is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. Ticket prices start at $97, with some VIP tickets coming in at $5,200.
The benefit concert will mark one year since the Eaton Fire devastated the region, taking the lives of 19 people, forcing 100,000 residents to evacuate, and destroying nearly 9,500 structures.
