The singer, who is up for Album of the Year , took the stage backed by vejigantes and bomba dancers

The love for Puerto Rico is going deep at the Latin Grammys. Rauw Alejandro took the stage Thursday night to perform a medley of songs from both his nominated Cosa Nuestra album and its prequel Capitulo 0, inspired by the roots of Puerto Rican music.

Rauw opened the show with the saxy and sexy “Khe?” Thematically, the performance tapped into the cultural traditions of the island as he was surrounded by bomba drums and dancers and vejigantes while he performed “Carita Linda,” the opening track of Capitulo 0. Then, he continued with “Silencio” and “Falsedad” from the newest project.

At this year’s awards, Alejandro’s album Cosa Nuestra is nominated for Album of the Year. The musician’s song “Baja Pa’ Acá” featuring Alexis & Fido is also up for Best Reggaeton Performance.

Alejandro is a two-time Latin Grammy winner: He took home the trophy for Best Urban Fusion/Performance for “Tattoo (Remix)” with Camilo in 2021, and his work on his then-girlfriend Rosalía’s Motomami earned him a win for Album of the Year in 2022.

The new performance follows the release of his iPhone-shot short film for “Besito En La Frente.” The track is part of Cosa Nuestra: Capitulo 0, which includes collaborations with Wisin, De La Rose, Saso, Ayra Starr, and Mon Laferte.
