A Tesco customer who struck the “yellow sticker jackpot” has managed to stock their freezer for merely £4.

The bargain hunter revealed their incredible discoveries on TikTok, where viewers were delighted with the haul. From discounted jam doughnuts to a vintage cheese and onion bloomer, the reductions secured by the shopper were remarkable.

The canny shopper, known as @carbootisful, couldn’t believe her fortune as she loaded up her trolley with yellow sticker bargains at Tesco.

The frugal shopper managed to discover a brilliant array of yellow sticker deals and has since revealed their haul. With most of it bound for the freezer, the Tesco shopper said the haul “made my day” and would be ideal for meal preparation.

During a late-evening visit to the supermarket, the TikTok content creator managed to save a considerable sum by purchasing only reduced items.

Featured in her haul were a variety of loaves, pastries and doughnuts which would have cost three times the amount at full price.

Amongst her bargain purchases were a vintage cheese and onion bloomer for just 59p, a four-pack of seeded rolls for 30p, and a sweet treat selection for only 45p.

She also grabbed jam doughnuts for 33p, a white boulette for 59p, and cheese rolls for 30p – all bound for the freezer to make those savings stretch even further.

The thrifty shopper included tiger bread for just over 50p, sliced white loaves for 30p, Nutella doughnuts for 66p, and apple and blackberry pastries for the same price. Bargain hunters will largely concur that timing is everything when it comes to securing the best yellow sticker deals.

For this content creator, the late-evening expedition proved tremendously worthwhile as she secured some fantastic reductions.

She remarked: “It made my day. So much money saved for breakfast and lunch bread – all in the freezer it goes!”

Ex-Tesco staff have previously revealed the optimal time to visit stores for yellow sticker bargains.

Most retailers feature a reduced section within their fresh produce aisles, typically well-signposted or stocked with yellow-sticker merchandise.

However, this arrangement can differ between individual branches.

Three stages of yellow sticker price cuts were disclosed by a former employee, who informed The Mirror these reductions would escalate throughout the day.

An opening 10% reduction in the morning would be increased to 30%, 50%, and occasionally even 90% as the day progressed.

A Tesco representative also acknowledged the advantages of the yellow sticker markdowns, noting the offers also serve as an excellent method of minimising food waste.

A spokesperson for the retailer commented: “Markdowns on fresh products continue to be popular and help to prevent good food from going to waste.”
