While YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s first major headlining ‘Make America Slime Again‘ tour thrilled a packed out crowd in Atlanta on Oct. 16, fans were treated to a surprise performance of “Whim Whamiee” by rising rappers Pluto and YKNiece, right in their hometown. The unexpected performance was doubly surprising as Pluto and YKNiece have spoken publicly about the tension between them that has festered since their breakout hit gained ground this year. It was a rare instance of the pair performing the track together since its rise.

Among young rap fans, “Whim Whamiee” has been one of the most socially dominant songs of 2025, especially over the summer, when it rose to Number 51 on the Hot 100. Both Pluto and YKNiece’s “Whim Whamiee” ad-libs have become something like Black-youth-culture catchphrases ever since, especially YKNiece’s “I’m talmbout in it.” Lizzo went on to feature her own version of the song,“Yitty on Yo Titties,” on her mixtape My Face Hurts from Smiling. “Whim Whamiee” kicked off promising careers for both young women, with Pluto joining forces with Sexyy Redd on her song “Motion,” and YKNiece earning even more virality for her verse on Metro Boomin’s “Take Me Thru Dere” with fellow Atlantans Quavo, Breskii, DJ Spinz, and Bobby Kritikal.

However, as the song and women rose in prominence, their relationship hit a fissure, particularly after fans noticed Pluto and YK performing “Whim Whamiee” separately at the same venues earlier this year, including the same one where YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s concert took place, State Farm Arena, for Atlanta’s Hot 107.9 Birthday Bash concert in June. In May, YKNiece said one of their separate performances came as a surprise to her and that after a series of issues, their relationship couldn’t be repaired, but she would be open to performing with Pluto at any time. Later in May, Pluto released a “Whim Whamiee” remix featuring Sexyy Red, but not YK. Pluto has since said on the Breakfast Club that their conflict was blown out of proportion by online commentary and that she had no hard feelings towards YK.

In their performance, Pluto and YK didn’t interact much and kept some distance between each other, though both maintained high energy for “Whim Whamiee.” Pluto remained on stage rapping ad-libs and dancing while YK performed “Take Me Thru Dere,” and her verse on Belly Gang Kushington’s “Friend Do” remix. “I love y’all…my motherf–king city!” YK said as she walked off stage, seemingly without acknowledging Pluto, who went on to perform some songs of her own.

Earlier this month, Pluto released her debut album, Pluto World, while YKNiece joined Saucy Santana on a remix of Black Queen’s “Witcha Dude” in September.
