Roman’s ‘timeless’ waxed coat is ‘warm and waterproof’

As the weather gets colder and wetter, it’s important to invest in the right coat – and Roman currently has an offer on one that will help keep you dry without sacrificing style.

The popular Waxed Longline Hooded Coat is 17% off, reduced from its standard £120 to £99 and saving shoppers £21, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Designed to “keep the unexpected showers at bay”, the coat has been made from wax-finished cotton-blend fabric, promising to keep wearers dry when heading outdoors during the damper months. The coat ends just above the knee and has long sleeves to keep the rain out. It closes with a zip and popper combination, and also has functional pockets. 

Most importantly, it has a removable hood and an adjustable waist to make it extra flattering and functional. It’s available in sizes 10 to 20, and comes in khaki and navy. Both shades are versatile enough to go with most outfits, and both of them are on sale.

The retailer also says the coat is machine washable, so taking care of it should be a breeze.

Roman shoppers are loving the coat, giving it a 4.9 out of 5 rating online. 

“This coat is everything I have been looking for”, said one shopper, adding she was “delighted with the way it covers my bottom half”. 

Another shopper said they prefer this over a Barbour, saying: “Very good coat, I used to wear Barbour wax jackets to take the dogs out etc but this is far better, wears like a normal coat as opposed to the wax jackets which are stiff and unwieldy, would definitely recommend this.”

A third review said: “I love it. I tried it out on a long walk in the pouring rain and it kept me completely dry!”

Another shopper, who bought the coat in khaki, said it was “cosy and waterproof”, calling it “timeless”. 

One customer deducted a star from their review regarding the fit, saying: “I felt it was on the big side even with the draw string waist. It was very roomy around the upper back, so have requested exchange for a smaller size.”

Nevertheless, another shopper said: “This is going to be my ‘go to’ winter coat, warm and waterproof. What’s not to like and at a very good price.”
