An epic crime thriller has been recognised for having a serious plot twist. The movie made it to the top of IMDb’s listing “The Best Movie Twists“. The Usual Suspects is a crime thriller film directed by Bryan Singer and written by Christopher McQuarrie. It stars Stephen Baldwin, Gabriel Byrne, Benicio del Toro, Kevin Pollak, Chazz Palminteri, Pete Postlethwaite and Kevin Spacey.

The film’s synopsis reads: “‘The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn’t exist,’ says con man Kint (Kevin Spacey), drawing a comparison to the most enigmatic criminal of all time, Keyser Soze. Kint attempts to convince the feds that the mythic crime lord not only exists, but is also responsible for drawing Kint and his four partners into a multi-million dollar heist that ended with an explosion in San Pedro Harbour – leaving few survivors.”

The Usual Suspects has an impressive 96% rating from the audience and 87% from the critics of Rotten Tomatoes. The critics’ consensus states: “Expertly shot and edited, The Usual Suspects gives the audience a simple plot and then piles on layers of deceit, twists, and violence before pulling the rug out from underneath.”

One critic said: “An imaginative, entertaining crime mystery with plenty of nerve and vigour.”

A second added: “A perpetually engrossing endeavour that benefits from its myriad of above-average, inherently spellbinding attributes…”
