New World War 2 action movie debuts at 100% ‘Mad Max meets Fast and Furious’ | Films | Entertainment
Hailed as “John Wick vs the Nazis” upon its release, the long-awaited sequel to Sisu lands in cinemas next month.
The original is set during 1944’s Lapland War and follows a Finnish Army commando turned gold prospector attempting to defend himself from being robbed and murdered by a Waffen-SS platoon.
Now Sisu: Road to Revenge is almost here, taking the action to just after World War 2 and this time against a Soviet Red Army unit led by Avatar villain Stephen Lang.
Reviews are in for the new bloody action flick, which has debuted at 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, and is being called “Mad Max Fury Road meets the Fast and the Furious”.
Tech Advisor
If you ever wondered what would happen if Mad Max Fury Road met the Fast and the Furious franchise, this is it. Physics have no place here, all of the space is occupied by insane action and incredible heart.
IGN
Sisu: Road to Revenge offers a ludicrous and punishing take on the same fantastic action-forward indulgence as its predecessor, like a post-WWII blend of Mad Max: Fury Road and a Fast & Furious sequel.
Collider
Sisu: Road to Revenge builds off the gleeful, comic-level brutality of the original with an inventive, more direct sequel.
FandomWire
While it’s not as consistently gory or darkly humorous as its predecessor, Sisu: Road to Revenge makes up for that by increasing the number of insane (and satisfying) set pieces the likes of which only Helander and this newly built franchise can deliver.
MovieWeb
If you’re wondering who might win in a fight between a cargo truck and a fighter plane, this film provides the gory, blood-soaked answer — laws of physics be damned.
Bloody Disgusting
Helander channels George Miller in his raucous Mad Max-like road thriller that gives a big, bloody middle finger to reality in favor of crowd-pleasing action carnage.
Dexerto
Sisu: Road to Revenge delivers wall-to-wall action and consistently creative kills, while the hero’s personal journey carries a powerful message about the futility of war.
Sisu: Road to Revenge hits cinemas on November 21, 2025.
