Dog owner in tears after finally seeing ‘life through pet’s eyes’

Wouldn’t it be amazing to get to see life from the perspective of your dog? To be able to nosy into their lives and see everything from a different angle. It also means that if they go for a little wander slightly out of your line of sight, you can look back on what they’ve seen on their travels.

That’s exactly what the owner of Daisy the Dachshund wanted to do when they attached a camera to her harness – and made quite possibly the cutest video of all time.

Pooch @daisytheminisausage has her adventures documented by her human, and over the top of the video, she wrote: “I put a camera on my dog and here’s how it went…,” followed by an emoji with tears in their eyes.

Set to the song ‘Send Me On My Way’ by Rusted Root, the video was made 100% cuter as Daisy was seen trotting along on the path.

Pausing to let some people jog by, Daisy had a predominant view of the people’s knees who were running. But when the people had gone past, Daisy wanted to run as fast as her little legs would take her – but sadly, she didn’t catch up to the people.

In another short clip, Daisy’s owner unclipped her lead from her collar, and she instantly bounded away into the field to have a ball.

Dachshunds, while very small dogs, still need a decent amount of exercise each day. According to the PDSA, miniature Daschunds need 30 minutes and ‘normal’ varieties need an hour, so it’s important that each day they have the opportunity to run around and enjoy themselves.

The PDSA say: “Dachshunds are surprisingly high energy, so giving them plenty of exercise is an absolute must to keep them happy and healthy”.

When speaking about the type of exercise they need, they share: “This should be split into a couple of walks, one slightly longer to allow lots of time for sniffing. They will also need plenty of time to run and play off-lead in a secure area. However, you should be careful with the type of exercise they do – Dachshunds shouldn’t jump as they can easily damage their backs”.

Daisy’s ears were happily flapping in the wind as she charged forward into the field, bounding around.

The PSDA also recommend that “you should also have daily training sessions and give your Dachshund lots to keep their brain active to stop them getting bored. They’ll enjoy scent and puzzle games especially”.

In the comments, someone wrote: “To whoever came up with the idea of putting cameras on these dogs…..we freakin LOVE IT”.

“We saw nothing but ears and absolutely loved it,” another joked, with somebody else adding: “I love this so much! Her ears flapping around!”

A dog lover praised Dachshunds, writing: “Love this! One of my favourite breeds. I have had 5 dachshunds in my life, and loved every one of them fiercely. They are so smart”.

And, if you haven’t seen enough of Daisy’s ears flapping around in the wind as she runs, her owner posted a part two on Instagram.
