A thrilling film on Amazon Prime has wowed viewers and critics but it is one of the flicks that has flown largely under the radar since it was released this year. Amazon Prime has plenty of gripping thrillers for fans to watch and with so much choice available, some really great films can be overlooked and completely missed. However, this “brutal and bloody” thriller has impressed movie fans and has received rave reviews.

Bring Them Down stars Barry Keoghan and Christopher Abbott in a gripping story set in rural Ireland. The film, which has an impressive Rotten Tomatoes score of 90 percent, charts an ongoing rivalry between two families and when things take a turn, events become bloody and violent. With stellar performances from its talented cast and a tense storyline, it is an impressive first outing for new filmmaker Christopher Andrews.

Bring Them Down was released in February of this year and was loved by critics. However, many fans still haven’t discovered it.

The flick is available on Amazon Prime to those who have a Mubi suscription. Amazon Prime customers can trial a free Mubi subscription for free for seven days.

Alternatively, Bring Them Down is available to buy or rent on the streaming service. When it comes to critic reviews of the film, it has been hugely praised and the filmmaker has been applauided for creating such a gripping thriller as his first feature.

One reviewer wrote: “Gorgeously crafted, unbearably tense, and seething with quiet rage, this is not for the faint of heart. It’s a tale of fragile masculinity, generational bitterness, and the corrosive nature of vengeance.”

Another shared: “Bring Them Down is an unrelentingly grim look at what happens when assumptions are made and communication breaks down between already angry and distrusting people—in particular, men—who feel the world owes them something.”

A third wrote: “Bring Them Down tells a twisted story of revenge that is difficult to watch due to animal cruelty but stellar lead performances make it a must see.”

A fourth said: “The desolate and gloomy study of male violence and its consequences isn’t for everyone but if you’re onboard, it’ll suck you right in.”

“In the end, dire financial concerns are the motivating factor behind this gripping, cautionary tale, one bolstered by strong performances and an uncompromising look at how easy it is to succumb to our worst impulses,” said another.

Another added: “I admire the performances and unique directing choices in the film. It is slow paced but brutal and bloody and I was very satisfied with the ending, where it’s very depressing and poignant. I was happy to see it in theaters.”
