“[It] was a labor of love. I’m not in love anymore,” the musician said

It’s the end of an era: WaleMania is over. On Friday, the musician announced that he’ll be concluding his annual WrestleMania weekend event series after 10 years.

“I hope everybody has a great time tonight. This will be the final Walemania,” Wale wrote on X, sharing a video of the Sphere in Vegas celebrating the show. “Ten years lots of memories.. thank u to everybody who has showed up and showed out.”

When asked by a fan why he’s ending the show, Wale replied, “[It] was a labor of love. I’m not in love anymore.” In reply to another post, Wale added: “Anybody who been paying attention knew this was inevitable. This the last hurrah.”

Wale started the concert series in 2015 alongside Court Bauer, adding an “unofficial welcome” to the already-packed WWE-intense weekend.

“WaleMania has always been a passion of mine because it combines all of my loves into one place during a weekend that I always have the most fun,” he said in a 2022 interview. “I love doing this for fans of myself and my music as well as the fans of professional wrestling because at the end of the day, I’m one of you too.

WrestleMania 41 is set to be hosted in Las Vegas this year with Roman Reigns facing CM Punk and Set Rollins in a Triple threat match and Cody Rhodes facing off with John Cena for the Undisputed WWE Championship. Next year’s WrestleMania — the first in 10 years without Wale’s event — is scheduled for April 11 and 12 in New Orleans.
