Princess Anne appeared to be in high spirits today as she attended day three of Cheltenham Festival. The Princess Royal, a former equestrian herself, looked stylish in a red coat which she paired with a black furry hat and black boots.

She finished the look with a pink printed scarf, a pair of black leather gloves and a red leather bag. Royal fans loved Anne’s look and took to social media to express their views. One user wrote: “Love her coat, her hat and those boots! Red really suits her. She looks fabulous as always, perfect for the freezing weather! “

Another one said: “She looks stunning in red.”

A third one commented: “Princess Anne always looks amazing and she can pull off any colour of clothes and she looks sensational.”

And a fourth chimed: “Princess Anne looks quite lovely and her smile is contagious.”

King Charles’s sister joined her daughter, Zara Tindall and her husband Mike, at the races today.

Zara was a vision in green, as she wore a Hobbs London wool coat in kelp green, Aspinal of London’s Lottie bag in black, while for shoes, she opted for Fairfax & Favor’s black high-heeled Regina boots.

She completed the look with a black fedora. Mike colour-matched his wife with a khaki tartan suit.

Mike, who is a former rugby professional, has revealed in a conversation with Sporting Life that his wife and mother-in-law are “die-hard fans” of the Cheltenham Races.

Speaking of Zara and Princess Anne, he said: “[Zara] loves it – she loves horses in general, but from the racing side of things it’s always been a massive part of her life. The Princess Royal [Princess Anne] is also a die-hard horse racing fan.

“I think it’s great for the profile of the sport to have her in it, and she loves her role at Cheltenham now. She’s hosting people every day and she loves it.”

He added: “It’s such a big thing for the whole of the Cotswolds – it sums it up, having a good time, enjoying a fantastic sport and looking after the horses.

“For a lot of people in the Cotswolds that’s their way of life It exponentially builds that focus and I’ve loved it each of the 15 years I’ve been going. We go every single year and each day of the week as well.”
