Makeup artist and brand founder Lisa Eldridge has launched a new luxury eyeshadow palette that makes a great gift for the lady in your life this Mother’s Day (March 30). The Betty Eyeshadow Palette is limited edition with a selection of spring-ready shades for creating a range of looks.

Retailing at the same price as the rest of eyeshadow palettes at £49, the Betty is a playful edit of six buttery smooth, totally harmonious and complementary high-performance, easy-to-blend shadows. Each shade is secured magnetically in the compact, with an easy pop-in and pop-out mechanism – allowing you to effortlessly interchange any shade between your Lisa Eldridge palettes or with the individual refills, to create your own bespoke, collectible curation.

The lavender shade can highlight the eyelids and add shimmer along with other brown shades. Suqqu’s Signature Color Eyes Eyeshadow in shade 137 Hanamatome is equally as stunning with the matte and metallic pastel shades of pink and purple.

Aside from the shades, Lisa Eldridge fans also love the chic palette case that is inspired by vintage cigarette cases from the 1930s. One shopper shared: “The sparkles are so delicate and beautiful. I use the palette almost every day and do not get bored – a forever staple.” A second who enjoyed using the Muse palette said: “Excellent shadows that stay fresh looking all day. The colours are fresh on my hooded deep set crepe skin eyes. The case is beautiful and you can customise it to suit with refill, nothing not to like.”

But some shoppers were let down when they received the product and found the colours to be different to their online descriptions.

“I bought the Fawn palette and overall I love every colour except for the ‘Debutante’, described as a peachy pink,” one wrote. “Even when you look at it in palette itself it looks pink. But when you apply it is actually orangey taupe with like 70% of peach shimmer and 30% pink shimmer. I’m very pale and this color looks hideous on me.”

Many are impressed with the case design that feels both ‘premium’ and ‘satisfying’ in craftsmanship. Lisa explained that the Betty palette shades are inspired by her cat, adding: “It’s no secret that I’m crazy about my cats/ In particular, I’m obsessed with the tones of my Betty, or Betty Kitten as we call her.”

Apart from Suqqu, Lancome’s Hypnose Palette in 06 Reflet D’Amethyste, £50, includes some darker purples shades that can double as eyeliner.

Paul & Joe’s Eye Colour Palette, £33, features some mesmerising hues whether you prefer earth tones like 05 Bookshelf or spring-summer-inspired like 03 Tresser or 05 Summer Pareu. We also adore the brand’s cat-shaped lipsticks (£11, Amazon).
