Three cat breeds known to be most affectionate to owners

According to experts at Petplan – a UK-based pet insurance company – there are three cat breeds that are considered the most affectionate.

If you are in the market for a cute kitten, or want to adopt, you may want to find a super snuggly kitty to bring back into your home.

One of the most affectionate cat breeds to consider is the Birman cat, which is said to have a “gentle, loving personality”.

These cats are touted as the best “family cat” due to their affectionate nature and how content they are with being handled.

“This personable breed loves discovering new things and is always willing to join in with fun and games,” the experts at Petplan stated.

Another affectionate cat breed to consider is the “sweet-natured” Maine Coon.

Described as “bright, extroverted and adaptable”, don’t be fooled by the cat’s larger size and shaggy hair appearance.

One other cat breed you may not have realised is on the more affectionate side is the Selkirk Rex.

A rare cat with a curly coat, the super sweet Selkirk Rex has an “easy-going” temperament and “loving” disposition.

While some cats may not seem affectionate at all, you could be missing the subtle signs of love they’re showing towards you.

Even though a cat may not want to be picked up and cuddled, they could simply be showing you love in other ways.

For example, licking you, biting you, slowly blinking at you, or even head-butting you are all signs of affection.
