Nineties alt-rock great Kim Deal continues to tease her debut solo album, Nobody Loves You More, with the release of the LP’s title track, as well as a bunch of tour dates.

The track is noticeably different from previous offerings, with Deal leaning into classic swooning balladry, her tender guitar accompanied first by strings and, eventually, a booming brass band. “I don’t know where I am/And I don’t care,” Deal sings. “One look at you/I forget why I’m standing here/I mean to tell you/Nobody loves you more.”

“Nobody Loves You More” arrives with a music video directed by Alex Da Corte, which offers a visual take on the album’s cover art (which was inspired by the Dutch artist Bas Jan Ader). The clip opens with a close-up on Deal as she performs and sings the song, with the camera slowly pulling back to reveal the musician on a small stage floating in a vast sea, accompanied by a flamingo.

Deal will release Nobody Loves You More this Friday, Nov. 22, and to mark the occasion she’ll play a special set at Reckless Records in Chicago that afternoon. She’ll officially hit the road in support of the LP next spring. After a one-off show at the Barbican in London on March 3, Deal will launch a North American tour March 10 in Boston, with the run wrapping March 30 in San Diego. (She’s also set to play Primavera Sound in Barcelona, Spain and Porto, Portugal in June.)

Tickets for the North American tour will also go on sale this Friday, starting at 10 a.m. local time. Pre-sales will start tomorrow, Nov. 19, with full info available on Deal’s website.

Deal started teasing her first solo album over the summer, dropping “Coast” — her first solo offering since 2014 — in June (Deal released a handful of solo singles in the 2010s, but never a full record). “Coast” was eventually followed by “Crystal Breath” and “A Good Time Pushed.”
